Teletravel: adapting a philosophical thought experiment into an artistic graphic novel.

I am still in the process of deciding what a typical page layout will look like and how I will present the text, but right now I am thinking something like this. It has been pointed out to me that the writing might be too messy and rushed looking when compared to the drawings. I borrowed some books on hand lettering which might better inform the text I make in the future.
This is a close up of THE ATOM VACUUM, the most critical part of a teleport machine. I just got a new type of mid-tone paper which is more expensive but of much better quality than what I have been working on. It is thick enough that watercolor paint can be applied to it, so put some venomous looking green into the light and a little blue-black in the shadows. I am thinking about including color in certain drawings to emphasize particular elements of the story.
This is Teletravel Incorporated during a normal work day. The phone booth looking things are teleport machines and the signs inform customers where each machine will take you. This drawing is larger than most I have done so far and will probably be a full page illustration if I ever get the story published as a book. It took me a very very very long time, partially because I am obnoxiously perfectionist and partially because after I was done drawing I decided the whole thing needed more contrast so I went over it all again with charcoal pencil.

I have several more drawings which I have finished but have not had time to scan yet. I've been jumping around in my story, illustrating the parts I know best or am pretty sure I won't change.
Concerning these two panels, I am happy with the one on the left but the unfinished one on the right is already giving me problems. Mr. Doubus (my current name for the main character) is supposed to be making a general gesture as he speaks about his facility. However, right now he just seems to be examining his own hand. Maybe it won't look like he's just examining his hand when I finish the rest of it, but I am not so sure.

These are the first five panels of the story. Right now my plan is to have four panels on each page. I have decided to do most of the panels with graphite and white colored pencil on brown paper. This working method is relatively fast and produces an aesthetic I am relatively pleased with. I have not decided whether I want to keep them this way. In an ideal world I would probably print them all out on watercolor paper and add color to them. However, I have experimented with this technique a little and there are a number of complications, most notably time investment. Right now I am looking for critique and ideas about the drawing, the format, the possibility of color, etc.

| "Big Catch" (Watercolor and ink) |
I did this piece over the summer. It's based off an old nautical illustration of a fisherman with some kind of large ocean fish. I decided to replace the fish with a crazy sea monster. I'm fairly happy with it, though I think there are some problems with the man's body proportions and I'm not quite sure how I feel about the lighting and perspective.
